Thank You goes out to everyone who purchased trash bags as part of our PFO's (Parent & Faculty Organization) annual Fundraiser!  Your trash bags will be delivered to Saints Francis & Clare of Assisi campus and are to be picked up on Wednesday, September 11th.  If it is a nice day, pick up your trash bag rolls on the parish front lawn, but it weather is not cooperating, then pick-up will be the Gubbio Athletic Center (gym).  Your support of our PFO is greatly appreciated!

There will not be any Masses held at Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi Catholic Church beginning Tuesday, August 20 through Friday, August 23.  We hope Father Steve Giannini has a restful vacation during this time.

Be sure to have your SSFC student bring a bright smile to School Picture Day, Monday, August 12.  Order forms came home in your family's Back-to-School Packets.  This year, you have the option of choosing a new background that includes our round Jesus stained glass window (for an additional charge.) Please have your children dress in the "church best" clothing on that day.

HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION -- Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is Thursday, August 15.  We will celebrate an Anticipation Mass on Wednesday, August 14, at 6:30 pm.  We will offer four Masses on Thursday:  6:30 am, 8:15 am, Noon, and 6:30 pm.

Saints Francis & Clare of Assisi School will be holding a "BACK-TO-SCHOOL" Night for PARENTS ONLY (Kindergarten - 8th grade) on Wednesday, August 7th, from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Classrooms will be open and teachers will be available to answer questions.  This is a great time to introduce yourself to your child's teacher and voice any concerns that may have popped up.

Saints Francis & Clare of Assisi School will be holding a "BACK-TO-SCHOOL" Open House on Sunday, July 28th, from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm. Classrooms will be open and all SSFC staff will be available to answer questions. Spirit wear will be for sale too! Only one on the Southside of Indy!  Please plan to come to Saints Francis & Clare of Assisi's annual Memorial Day Mass and Celebration on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th. Music begins at 8:45 am, with Mass beginning at 9:00 am.  We will pay tribute to the courage of the men and women who have served or are currently serving our country. Military veterans are encouraged to wear uniforms or other military paraphernalia.  There will be candle placement, singing of the National Anthem, the playing of TAPS. Following the ceremony, everyone in invited to move to St. Clare Hall for a small reception and to hear Vice Admiral P. Stephen Stanley speak. See you there!

Saints Francis & Clare of Assisi will hold three separate GRADUATION CEREMONIES this Spring.  Our Kindergarten class will have graduation on Monday, May 20, at 6:00 pm.  Our Home School students will have a Mass and Graduation ceremony on Tuesday, May 21 at 6:00 pm and our Eighth Grade graduation Mass and ceremony will be on Thursday, May 23, beginning at 6:00 pm.  All graduations will take place in church and the 8th grade and Home School students will have receptions in St. Clare Hall immediately after the Masses.

Come join Saints Francis & Clare of Assisi's  J.O.Y. (Just Older Youth) Club in a MORNING OF PRAYER on Monday, April 1, with Fr. Joe Moriarty, as he leads us in "God's Unconditional Love Leads to Deep Peace and Lasting JOY".  Please begin the day with our 8:00 am Mass followed by coffee and donuts.  Fr. Joe will begin speaking at 9:00 am.  His talk will be followed with a Pitch-in Soup Luncheon.  Sign-up sheets are at the Information Desk in the Narthex.  Signup early!  There are only 70 seats available and last year's Morning of Prayer was a packed house!

Saints Francis & Clare of Assisi Catholic Church will hold a Taizé Prayer Service on Wednesday evening, March 27th, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Come to this calm candlelit service and experience song, psalms, Scripture and silence as we meditate on the Garden of Gethsemane, Calvary and The Garden Tomb. If you have never been to one, it is a very calming experience. Don't miss out!

Saints Francis & Clare of Assisi's School Ministry is holding our second annual GLOW WALK/DANCE on Thursday, March 21st. Information and pledge forms have gone home with our students.  The students will collect pledges and then walk or dance around the gym for an allotted amount of time, surrounded by black lights to make this occasion a joyous and "glowing" event!  Students meeting the minimum donation amount will receive a Glow Tote Package, have their name announced on the school announcements, receive a prize and receive a ticket for a chance at the Grand Prize!  This fundraiser goes to support our School Ministry so please be generous with your pledges.

10 Things a Disciple of Jesus Would Do -- an All-Parish meeting on Evangelization, Wednesday, February 20, from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm in church. Come help to develop a document and concept of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus and how to act in accordance. All parishioners are encouraged to come. The ideas from this meeting will be shared deanery wide.
