First Communion / First Reconciliation
What a joy it is to prepare and witness our Saints Francis & Clare of Assisi children come into full communion with the Catholic Church. Our SSFC priests, deacons, teachers, catechists and staff involved with the sacrament preparation process are passionate to insure both parents and students are offered the best opportunity to celebrate the fullness of each Sacrament.
Students traditionally prepare for and receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist during their second grade year via our Religious Education and School Ministry second grad curriculum. Children who receive the Sacrament of Baptism prior to age 7 and have been engaged in first grade faith formation via a school or parish ministry will follow this path. However, families come to us at all stages in their faith life and we look forward to working with these children to prepare them for those spiritual milestones whenever they join us.
Children age seven and beyond (through grade eight) who have not received baptism or were baptized in another faith tradition are offered our Bridges program. Bridges teaches children and youth more about our faith and prepares them to receive the sacraments for which they are ready.
