We appreciate all of our volunteers!  You are an integral part of our school family and making our school successful. We do require all volunteers to complete the Safe & Sacred training and complete a background check.
Examples include:
        chaperones and study trip drivers
        classroom parties
event volunteers (field day, fundraisers, etc.)
and any other type of interaction with our students

Completing a Background check is part of Safe & Sacred Training.  Once you have completed this it will be rechecked periodically. Saints Francis & Clare will notify you about your renewal check.

About Safe & Sacred Training

Are you interested in volunteering at Saints Francis & Clare School?

Safe and Sacred is the online child protection training program for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.  All volunteers who have contact with children are required to complete Safe and Sacred training prior to the first day of their volunteer service.

How to Access Safe and Sacred

Listed below is the link to the Safe and Sacred website:

The Safe and Sacred link takes you to the home page where you will register by providing your email address and choosing a password. You will then be able to access the "Protecting Children in the 21st Century" course.  Please be sure to read the instructions and complete all of the steps.

Once you complete the training, there is a 20-question quiz.

Background Check & Code of Conduct Form

You will also be asked to read and comply with our code of conduct and consent to a background check.  A certificate of completion is issued once the background check is processed.  (Please note:  Processing the background check may take from 5-8 business days.   DO NOT LOG BACK IN TO CHECK YOUR STATUS.  This will delay the process.  We ask that you complete the training at least 15 days before you plan to volunteer.)  If you are not Safe and Sacred at the time of volunteering, you will not be permitted to attend.

Each training certificate will bear a 5-year expiration date.  Every 5 years, individuals will receive email or mail notification to re-take the course in order to provide a refresher on what they learned, as well as additional information on how to keep children safe.  Criminal history re-checks will also be processed every three years. Along with the program training, you will be required to fill out an online background check and code of conduct. The background check is to screen sex offenders from participating in ministries with children. The Code of Conduct Form describes the conduct required of all people working with children, both employees and volunteers.

Since this program was launched, we have received great feedback on the convenience and education it provides our employees and volunteers. We are pleased to have this resource for our continued commitment to the care and protection of our community.
